1.1: Categorical Data
- categorical: qualitative
- quantitative: numerical
- bar graphs, NOT histograms
- watch the scale!
- frequency = count
- relative frequency = %
1.2: Displaying Quantitative Data
- describing distribution: SOCS (Shape, Outliers, Center, Spread)
- mean is affected by skew, median is not
- histograms: if comparing distributions w/ diff. sample sizes, use %
1.3: Describing Quantitative Data
- IQR = Q1Q3
- middle 50% of observations
